Experience a musical journey through time with The Elora Singers
ELORA – The Elora Singers invite audiences to an afternoon of choral music with Soup and Song: Motets Through the Centuries, a concert that traces the evolution of the sacred motet across five centuries of musical history.
The event is slated for Feb. 7 at 2:30pm at St. John’s Anglican Church with a soup lunch at 12:30pm for an additional cost.
This program journeys from the polyphony of the Renaissance, featuring works by G.P. da Palestrina and Josquin des Prez, to the serene beauty of J.S. Bach’s Komm, Jesu, komm, and onward to modern interpretations by William Harris, James MacMillan and Arvo Pärt.
Presented in the resonant acoustics of St. John’s Anglican Church, this concert offers an opportunity to experience both the intimacy and grandeur of this choral form, officials state.
Audience members are also invited to enjoy a soup lunch before the performance.
Tickets are available online at elorasingers.ca and by calling 519-846-0331.
