Erin gears up to celebrate Canada Day
ERIN – The Summerfest Canada Day celebration, hosted by the Rotary Club of Erin, will take place July 1 from noon to 5pm at the Erin Fairgrounds.
This year’s event will feature music, dancing, food and fun for all ages. Entry to the event grounds is free.
Entertainment
Live entertainment includes: the Maximum 60’s band, Bollywood dancing with Nabonita Singh, and good old-fashioned line dancing with Gudrun Eves.
The list of kid-friendly interactive activities includes:
- a bouncy castle obstacle course;
- face painting;
- henna art;
- children’s DJ;
- Mermaid Jacy booth with activities, temporary tattoos and water warrior certificates;
- meet-and-greet with Owelette mascot;
- a classic corn kernel play area.
- camp-style games, arts, and crafts with Erin Parks & Recreation;
- construction and imaginative play with Brighten Up;
- art and sensory play experiences with Club Ned; and
- hands-on art activities with Over Here Community Arts Adventure.
A photo booth will also be on offer for all ages, provided by Hollow Hills Photography.
Food, refreshments
Food and drink vendors will be on site:
- La Katrina FoodTruck;
- Fresh Eats and Drinks;
- Tikki Hut Drinks;
- All Fired Up Burgers;
- Sweet Road Mini Donuts;
- Bread Heads Pizza; and
- Home Craft Ice Cream.
There will also be a licensed beer garden, and water bottle refill stations.
Summerfest is a pet-free event, with service dogs the exception.
Proceeds from Summerfest will support East Wellington Community Services programs addressing homelessness in Erin.
