Erin council paid $210,000 in 2025
Remuneration reports shows mayor made $55,000
ERIN – Erin council took home nearly $210,000 last year, up from about $195,000 in 2024.
A remuneration report – an annual, public document required by the Ontario Municipal Act – was shared during the Feb. 26 meeting of council.
Mayor Michael Dehn made $55,511 including $17,377 in benefits.
He also took home $1,677 for his work with the Credit Valley Conservation authority, as well as roughly $72,406 in salary, expenses and benefits from the County of Wellington, where he serves as a councillor.
Councillors Bridget Ryan, Cathy Aylard and Jamie Cheyne each made $37,526, including $14,230 in benefits.
Councillor John Brennan took home $28,404, including $5,108 in benefits.
Expenses varied, with Aylard, Cheyne and Brennan spending $1,621 for conferences, compared to $695 for Ryan.
Aylard accumulated the highest total for mileage and other expenses at $2,865, while Cheyne and Brennan had $1,994 and $1,844 respectively, and Ryan had $688.
Aylard said during the meeting she was forced to obtain alternative travel, resulting in additional costs to attend the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) conference.
“We are very conscientious about doing a ride share program so we can reduce travel costs,” said Aylard.
“This, unfortunately, didn’t work out, and at the last minute, I had to incur higher travel costs for this very important conference.”
The town’s committee of adjustment, livestock evaluators and fence viewers made a combined total of $2,646 in 2025.
