Erin addictions treatment centre will continue operations
ERIN – Trafalgar Addiction Treatment Centres, located at 5483 Trafalgar Road in Erin, has been granted a zoning bylaw amendment that will allow the centre to continue its operations on the property.
“The treatment centre will contribute to the provision of health and social services and support complete communities,” said Erin senior planner Jessica Peake.
The amendment was approved with site specific provisions including a minimum of 10 guest bedrooms, a minimum of 20 parking spaces and a minimum lot size of 4.8 hectares (11.86 acres).
The treatment centre currently services Erin, Wellington County, the Greater Toronto area and other surrounding communities, offering treatment for those 18 and older suffering from substance abuse disorders.
The centre has been operating at its current location for the past six years.
“It’s probably the most local private treatment facility to areas like Brampton, Guelph, even as far as Barrie, so it’s close to loved ones,” said a representative from the centre during a July 23 council meeting.
