Erin 4H Poultry Club starts again
The Erin Poultry 4H club has started again. We have a lot more members this year – it seems like there are over 30!
We have the same great leaders: June and Craig Switzer, Leslie Cook and Gary Smith. First we started in and a video of a chick hatching was playing and then we watched a video from the cackle hatchery about how to set up a chick brooder. Then we separated into groups of who had been in the club before and those who have not.
The group that had been in the club before talked about money and feed management and discussed if they were going to get new chicks. The other group talked about how to set up a brooder and basics on how to raise chicks.
Then we held our election!
Our president is Matthew, our secretary is Kayla our vice president is Abigail and our press reporter is moi.
After the elections, we talked about what the rest of the meetings were going to be about. Next meeting is going to be getting our baby chicks! Stay tuned for our adventures raising chickens!
