ELSLEY, Raymond Clifton
December 24, 1951 – May 6, 2026
74 years It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond Clifton Elsley, who died suddenly but peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, in his 74th year. Raymond’s life was a testament to living fully – in both wok and recreation. A man of deep loyalties, Ray’s love of the waters of Georgian Bay and his dedication to his community were the twin currents that ran through everything he did. Whether casting a line at first light or sharing a round of golf with friends, Ray approached life with warmth, a ready laugh, and an open heart. His great sense of humour was one of his most cherished gifts – the kind that could light up a room and linger long after he’d left it. His passion for golf and fishing on Georgian Bay were joys that found him young and never let him go – a man who found his best self outdoors, in good company, and in the quiet beauty of the Bay. Ray spent most of his working life as a car salesman in the Guelph and Collingwood areas, where his genuine warmth, quick wit, and integrity earned him lasting friendships across both communities. He was honoured to be recognized by the Wasaga Beach OPP for his generous vehicle donations to the OPP/MADD program – a cause close to his heart. Raymond’s generous spirit, infectious humour, and joyful presence will be deeply missed by his family, his friends and his neighbours in the Wasaga Beach Community and beyond. Raymond is lovingly remembered by his Sister Bonnie and Brother-in-law Angelo, and his nieces and nephews: Liana (Chris), Bryan (Charlotte), Todd, Danielle, Amy (Matthew), and Jody (Shane). He leaves behind his great-nieces and great-nephews: David-Angelo (Alana), Becca, Aidan, Lyla, Dax, Benjamin, Zackary, Ellie, and Gavin. Raymond was predeceased by his beloved siblings Bob, Betty, Barbara & his best friends Wayne & Alvin. Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at 1:00 pm at the Wasaga Beach Rec Plex (Wasaga-Y), Oakview Room. All who knew Ray are warmly welcome.
