Elora Singers open concert season with Barrel Boys
KITCHENER – The Elora Singers begin the 2026-27 season with a concert featuring the Barrel Boys.
The concert takes place Oct. 3 at 7:30pm at the St. Matthew’s Centre in Kitchener.
Tickets are $52 for adults, $20 for students and $10 for children 12 and under.
Officials call the concert a “vibrant collaboration” between the Elora Singers and the Barrel Boys, with a “spirited” program of bluegrass and gospel music.
Featuring Jake Runestad’s Mountain Songs, this concert brings together two great ensembles for rich choral textures and lively instrumental energy.
Established in 2012, the Barrel Boys have become one of Canada’s favourite acoustic stringbands, officials say.
Each of the members writes and sings their own songs, making for a wide stylistic range within the band’s sound.
“We’ll perform music that grew out of the Appalachian mountains, Gospel traditions, and from Canada’s shores,” states a press release.
