ELORA – The Elora Singers open their 2025-2026 concert season with Requiem and Media Vita, a concert that pairs three towering compositions that bridge five centuries of choral music.
The Elora Singers bring this magnificent performance to two Ontario cities with two performances:
– Nov. 1, 4pm in London, Ontario at Metropolitan United Church, 468 Wellington St.; and
– Nov. 2 at 4pm in Guelph at St. George’s Anglican Church, 99 Woolwich St.
The Elora Singers, artistic director and conductor Mark Vuorinen and organist Jonathan Oldengarm, invite audiences on a journey through sound and time, officials say, with choral masterpieces that invite deep reflection, featuring Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem and John Sheppard’s Media Vita.
The full program includes:
– Maurice Duruflé, Requiem, Op. 9;
– John Sheppard, Media Vita;
– Herbert Howells, Take him, earth, for cherishing;
– Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Sicut cervus;
– Healey Willan, Rise Up, My Love, My Fair One;
