After folding last October, officials for the Elora Rocks hockey team are ready to start anew.

President of the team Larry Magnus confirmed the team will be hosting tryouts every Wednesday and Friday until the Thanksgiving weekend, when the team will be announced.

“There’s a little more interest, or showing some interest than there has the last couple of years,” he said.

The Rocks are part of the Western Ontario Athletic Association Senior AA hockey league and folded last season due to lack of interest from players.

The team needs 20 players plus three goalies in order to compete.  “We just hope to be competitive and take part, get back in and get our feet wet,” said Magnus.

“It will take a while to build a team again, it doesn’t happen overnight.”

Tryouts take place at the Elora Community Centre Wednesdays at 9:30pm and Fridays at 8pm. For more information, contact George Anderson at 519-498-7444 or elorarockshockey@hotmail.com.
