Elmira Theatre Company receives eight awards for Forever Love

ELMIRA – Elmira Theatre Company (ETC) would like to thank its patrons, sponsors, partners and members “for an amazing 2024-2025 theatre season.” 

 The season ended with a trip to the Western Ontario Drama League Festival competition, where ETC’s performance of Forever Love by Michael Grant brought home eight awards.  

The awards included three special adjudicator awards:

– Seamless Costume Changes: Karen Adourian, Tom Bolton, Ashley Grimshaw, Tracy Leighton, and Kimberly Young; 

– Effective Costumes: Tracy Leighton & Ashley Grimshaw; and 

– Commitment to the Cause: Joe Brenner (Julie-Anne Herteis gave Joe a haircut during intermission and chopped off his mullet). 

The performance also received awards for: 

– Outstanding Technical Achievement;

– Outstanding Performance in a Major Role: Joe Brenner; 

– Outstanding Performance in a Major Role: Liz Dennis; 

– Best Co-ordinated Production in Festival; and

– Best Production of a Canadian Play. 

“Congratulations to all the cast and crew who worked so hard to bring Forever Love to festival; your dedication paid off and we are so proud of you,” officials state. 

“As we wrap up one season, we look forward to the next,” officials continue, inviting everyone to “Three Shows, Two Sets, and One Amazing All-Canadian Season.” 

The three shows are:

Willow Quartet by Joan Burrows and directed by Brian Otto in November 2025; 

Halfway There by Norm Foster and directed by Robin Bennett in February 2026; and 

A Delicate Art written and directed by Michael Grant in April 2026. “Another World Premiere from our local playwright!” officials state.
