ELECTIONS 2010: Foster to run for mayor in township

The list of candidates filing to run for office in this municipality is slowly growing - but there is now some extra interest in the race.

Councillor Bob Foster filed on Aug. 26 to run for mayor. He will face incumbent Joanne Ross Zuj.

The other new candidate is Nancy Anderson, of Guelph, who is running for the Catholic School Board.

Those are the only two new candidates who have filed to run for office.

Centre Wellington council candidates as of Aug. 26 are:

- Ward 1, Kelly Linton;

- Ward 2, Kirk McElwain (incumbent);

- Ward 3, Jeremy Vink;

- Ward 4, Fred Mor­ris (incumbent);

- Ward 5, Vinnie Green, John Ortt, and Walt Visser (incumbent);

Ward 6, Mary Lloyd, Steven VanLeeuwen, and Mike Wisniewski.

In the Wellington County ward races:

- Ward 4, Jim Heinbuch and Lynda White (incumbent);

- Ward 5, Jean Innes (in­cumbent); and

- Ward 6 Shawn Watters and Bob Wilson (incumbent).

David Gohn (incumbent) is  the only candidate to date for the Upper Grand District School Board.
