EDWARDS, Laura
With profound sadness and deep love, Laura May Edwards (Rainey) of Grand Valley Ontario passed away at Headwaters Health Care Centre on July 28, 2026. Laura was well known for her historical knowledge of Grand Valley, and her involvement in the community, mostly involving baked goods. Laura will be missed at weekly cards, and her time spent with the United Church. Her joy and sense of life was appreciated by all that knew her. Laura is daughter to Ida May Buchanan (1940) and James Alexander Rainey (1973), and survived by her sister Clara (Wallace) Culp and her extended family. Laura is the beloved wife of late husband Robert Hugh Edwards (1996), and loving mother to her 3 daughters, (predeceased) Catharine (Ivan) Broughm (2020-2021), Yvonne Edwards (predeceased David Richardson 2005), Ivy (Henry) Rooyakkers. Grandmother to, Valerie (Paul), Derek, Angela (Damien), Karen (Mutiu), Michael (Shannon), Kaitlyn (Brian) and Blaine (Nikki). Great Grandmother to Jordan (Harley), Alexandria, Chyeanne, Nicole, Faith, Grace, Alexis, Shae, Izaac, Madelyn, David, and Ezra. Great Great Grandmother of Denver, Kylie and predeceased by Blaire, (2026). A funeral service was held at In Memoriam Funeral Services Inc. (28 Main St N, Grand Valley) on Friday, July 31st, 2026, starting at 12:00pm. The family received friends two hours prior to service time. Interment was held following the service at Grand Valley Union Cemetery. Reception followed the service at In Memoriam Funeral Services Inc.
