ELORA – The Elora Centre for the Arts is welcoming the community into its newly renovated atrium for a limited-time, hands-on art experience.
From now until Dec. 21, visitors of all ages are invited to drop in and explore the free DIY Play Station, inspired by the current gallery exhibition Loops, Layers, Shapes and Shadows.
This interactive art zone features three self-guided stations, each inspired by techniques used by some of the exhibition’s featured artists.
With simple instructions and all materials provided, visitors are encouraged to create freely – no experience required.
DIY stations include:
– Fold! and Draw! inspired by artist David Brown; and
– Reconstruct! inspired by artist Laurie Skantzos.
Participants can make something to take home or contribute to a growing community display taking shape in the atrium windows, reflecting the creativity of visitors throughout the month.
“Our goal is to make art accessible, playful and engaging for everyone,” said ECFTA programmer Judy Anderson in a press release. “The DIY stations invite people to experiment, slow down and re-connect with the joy of making.”
The DIY Play Station runs alongside the “Loops, Layers, Shapes and Shadows” exhibition in the gallery. Visitors are encouraged to explore both experiences during their visit. Winter gallery hours include Wednesday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm and Sunday from 12 to 4pm.

This interactive experience is made possible through the support of Elora Fergus Tourism and Regional Tourism Organization 4.
