Early Valentine’s

Dear Editor:

On Feb. 13 I was heading home on Highway 6, just a half mile from my road, Wellington Road 22.

I hit a whiteout of snow so thick I was blinded and hit black ice at the same time. I spun around on the road and ended up in the southbound lane with cars headed toward me. If I stayed there I would have been in a bad accident, so I took my chances and headed for the ditch. I was buried good in the snow.

My first Valentine was a man in a pickup truck who came to see if I was okay and called for a tow truck. He and his wife waited until the tow truck came.

My second Valentine was a lady working for Canada Post on her way home. She parked on the shoulder of the road with lights flashing to slow traffic.

My third Valentine was an OPP officer. He dug around my car door so I could get out, helped me up the snow bank and into the tow truck.

I didn’t get a chance to thank everyone or get your names. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
