DRAYTON – It’s been 42 years and the Drayton Farm Show is still going strong.

The two-day event on April 8 to 9 will focus on agriculture, innovation and community spirit.

According to officials the show is coming back “bigger, bolder and ready to celebrate the best of Ontario’s farming community.”

The show will take place at the PMD Arena and is hosted by the Kinsmen Club of Drayton.

The first day will run from 11am to 10pm and the following day from 11am to 9pm.

“Whether you’re a farmer, a business owner or a family looking for a great day out, the Drayton Farm Show offers something for everyone,” officials say.

Admissions is $5 for adults, $2 for children and kids under eight can enjoy the show for free.

Some of the over 100 vendors include:

– Equipment Ontario Stoltz;

– Minto Ag;

– Hensall Co-Op;

– Holstein General Store;

– Mapleton Historical Society;

– Snobelen Farms;

– Mapleton Fire Department;

– Mapleton Trees;

– Conestoga Agri Systems; and

– Maple Lane Farm Equipment.

Officials warn guests the parking area is limited and they encourage visitors to carpool or park off-site if possible.

Last year the show welcomed more than 2,500 people, with over 100 exhibitors participating.

Officials say show features will include:

– “cutting-edge” farm equipment and technology;

– live demonstrations and expert insights;

– local producers and ag-businesses;

– family-friendly activities; and

– community groups and rural organizations.

This year’s food vendor is the Community Resource Centre of North and Centre Wellington, a charitable organization that provides EarlyON and community outreach supports across Mapleton and surrounding areas.
