DOWNS, Alexander J.
Passed away April 13, 2023, aged 90 years. He was married to M. Gertrude (Freeman) for 60+ years. He will be missed by Marilyn, her husband Roger Kroes and their son Cameron, Harvey, his wife Patricia (Yenson) and their children A.J. (Ashley), Christopher (Jordyn), Elizabeth, Cynthia, Jessica (Austin) and Matthew and 6 great grandchildren. He also leaves his sister Marian Dobberthein and brother-in-law Wilbert Freeman, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Bob Downs and sister-in-law Berenice Shea. He lived on the farm outside Elora on the 8th line of Pilkington Township for 77 years. So many miles and acres were covered from doing custom farm work over the decades. A farmers’ life, well lived, now done … time to rest. Alex will be buried in Elora Cemetery beside his parents, Johnson and Mary Downs, literally across the road from where he was born. ~ Private Family Service ~ Donations to Hospice Wellington in Guelph.
