DOWNIE, Sylvia Edith (White)
passed in peace Friday 01 October 2021 in Fergus Ontario leaving many relatives and friends to mourn her passing. She was born in Kearney Ontario 11 August 1928. The 5th of 8 children of Fred and Clara White. She is predeceased by her husband George Downie and siblings Florence Romanyk, Clarence White, Alvin White, Donald White, Elaine Corry & Roger White. Those left to cherish her memory include her sister Lila (White) Matthews, sister-in-law Joyce White, many nieces, and nephews as well as good friends Dawna & Grace, dear friends and neighbors and her extended family at Highland Manor in Fergus Ontario. Graveside Service will take place on October 16, 2021, at Knox United Church Cemetery in Kearney Ontario at 12:00 noon, where she will be laid to rest among her predeceased family members. Although she had no children, Sylvia treated all her nieces and nephews like her own and was a true friend to all she knew.
