Tree down – Around 9:30pm on July 10, Bill McDonald was driving northeast on Bridge Street in Fergus and was about to turn left on to St. David Street when a tree limb fell on his car.
“I was moving when the tree collapsed on the car,” he said. “If I was going straight, then I would have got the whole tree and then it would have been a lot worse.”
There were no serious injuries and there was no one in the passenger seat.
“A branch came through [the passenger] window and smashed that window out,” McDonald said. His car was buried under the tree. When the tree came down, McDonald said there was no rain and only a light breeze.
