DIAMOND, Lorna
October 2, 1935 - July 28, 2026
Has joined the family circle. She passed away on the 28th of July at Royal Terrace in Palmerston where she has resided for the last 3.5 years. She was well-cared for there and enjoyed all the activities, especially the pen pals. You might know her from her time at Bell Telephone as a switch board operator, a proud member of Bethel Baptist Church, first on St Andrew Street then in the new location on Victoria Terrace, or at GMCH, or Wellington Terrace or WDPHU. She might have made your birthday cake! She was involved in Pioneer Girls, Brownies and Baptist Church summer camps. She was born in Trowbridge on October 2, 1935, to Ben and Connie Diamond. Predeceased by siblings Norman, his wife Betty, Lillian, her husband Frank, Harry, his wife Mona, Kathleen, her husband Teofil and Jack, his wife Shirley. Predeceased by daughter Debbie in 2009. She is survived by her children Connie and Gary, Nancy and Mark, Gayle and Cecil, Kevin, and Tammy and Paul. She was Grandma to Trevor, Becky, Curtis (Avery), Caryn (Brett), Geoff, Jason (Nancy) and Jacob. She was Gigi to Jayva, Allie, John, Anna, Colson, Callie, Ava, Noan, Alessiya and Wyatt. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Honouring mom’s wishes, there will be a private family burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated in memory of Lorna to Aboyne Rural Hospice.
