Development fees have not hindered growth says building chairman
Building permits values are up over $900,000 from this time last year according to councillor Ross Chaulk.
Chaulk made that statement after a recent look at year-to-date building permits.
He said in a review of the August building permits year-to-date for August 2010 was $11,534,200, compared to the 2009 figure of $10561,100 - a difference of $973,000 of construction value.
“The quite obvious conclusion is that contrary to popular belief in some quarters, the township’s development charges have not hindered development in Wellington North,” said Chaulk.
