Democracy lost?

We were ask to vote on four different options for St. David Street and we, the citizens, voted. We chose Option #4: no bicycle lanes with no reduced parking.

Our mayor and council never listened and went ahead with the bicycle lanes, reducing the parking from 42 to 19 spots.

I noted how some of the businesses in Fergus have already complained and right they should. Then I took note in the July 1 Advertiser that a recent poll on the bike lanes concluded 30% were in favour and 70% were opposed.

Our voices are not being heard! Have we lost our democracy in Centre Wellington?
