CUNNINGHAM, William Mills (Bill)
It is with sadness that we announce that Bill passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington, Guelph, in his 84th year, on January 28th, 2024. He was brother Bill to Dot and brother-in-law Dave Williamson, and uncle Bill to Debbie and David McHolm, Donna Power, and their children Rebecca (Matthew), Kelsey, JD (Rebecca), Lena, and Paula. He is predeceased by his parents, Herb and Grace. Bill operated the Elora Motors garage, at the corner of Mill and Metcalfe in Elora, for many years. He was a proud and longstanding member of the Elora Legion Branch 229, as well as the Freemasons. He was our family historian. His storytelling will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. His family would like to thank the staff at Hospice Wellington for the wonderful and thoughtful care given to Bill in his final days. We would also like to thank Dr. Pridham, Dr. Nguyen and the Elora Medical Group, as well as the nurses and doctors at Groves Memorial Community Hospital, St. Mary’s General Hospital and Grand River Hospital. Visitation will be held at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home in Fergus on Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 11am – 1pm. Following visitation, guests are invited upstairs to the Wellington Room for a time of fellowship and refreshments. Elevator access is available. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Hospice Wellington, the Guelph Humane Society, or to the Groves Memorial Community Hospital Foundation.
