Crossroads church to hold Harriston Canada Day celebration
HARRISTON – Crossroads Life Church (CLC) in Harriston will once again be hosting Canada Day festivities on July 1.
From 6 to 10pm, members of the community are invited to join at the church, located at 99 Young St. W in Harriston, for inflatables, food and other family activities.
CLC Pastor Theresa Keating told the Advertiser inflatables will run from 6 to 8:30pm, and there will be five in total for all ages to enjoy.
Food available at the event will consist of hotdogs, chips, pop and coffee. Hotdogs are priced at $2, and chips and drinks for $1.
However, Keating added the more tickets people purchase for food, the better deal they will get. She explained $5 will get you two hotdogs, one bag of chips and one pop/coffee. Food will be served from 6 to 9pm.
Around 9:45 to 10pm, CLC will begin its firework show.
Admission to the event and inflatables is free, and Keating suggests bringing a lawn chair for the firework show or a blanket to sit on the grass.
For insurance reasons, pets are not able to attend the event.
CLC will also be collecting food bank donations, with everything going directly to the Harriston Food Bank, “so we encourage people to bring items for that,” said Keating.
She added the Canada Day event has been going on since before her family attended the church. She noted the celebration is “one of our favourite things to do each year and we always look forward to seeing everyone.”
