County, township to hold info session for Mapleton businesses
MAPLETON – A public information session is slated for March 11 in an effort to reduce negative impacts of upcoming road closures in Mapleton.
In September county council awarded tenders for the Flax Bridge and Simmons Bridge rehabilitation projects, located on Wellington Road 11.
The Simmons Bridge work is expected to cause direct impacts on local businesses and residents.
Wellington county and Mapleton staff will be teaming up to support outreach efforts and coordinate meetings with the public, county roads manager Joe de Koning said at a Feb. 10 roads committee meeting.
Construction is to begin May 25 and continue until late October.
A full road closure is required with northern traffic detoured from Wellington Road 7 to Wellington Road 12.
The drop-in public session is slated for March 11 between 6 and 8pm at the PMD Arena (68 Main St. W., Drayton).
