County hosting new archives Sunday speaker series

ABOYNE – Come to the Wellington County Museum and Archives this fall to hear about a curator’s surprising stories, the journeys of Queen’s Bush settlers and photos exploring the county.

A four-part speaker series is presenting local experts who will share discoveries, untold stories and perspectives, officials say.

The talks take place Sundays at 2pm in the museum and archive’s reading room:

– Sept. 20, Spilling the Tea: A Museum Curator’s Surprising Stories, with Annemarie Hagan;

– Oct. 4, Mapping the Journeys of Mapleton’s Black Inhabitants of the Queen’s Bush Settlement, with Karen Smart;

– Oct. 25, Storing and Caring for Your Family Heirlooms, with Emily Benedict; and

– Nov. 15, Canvassing the County: Wellington Through the Lens of an Itinerant Photographer, with Elysia DeLaurentis.

Admission is by donation and no registration is required.
