County awards scholarships, bursaries to local students

Students’ fund totals $10,000 for post-secondary education

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Ten local students will be receiving educational scholarships and bursaries from the County of Wellington based on academic achievement, community involvement, or financial need.

At a Sept. 25 county council meeting, council awarded the following local students with $1,000 bursaries and scholarships to use toward their post-secondary school expenses:

– Sadie Koechl, Township of Centre Wellington;

– Isaac Turner, Township of Centre Wellington;

– Kaela deVries, Township of Guelph/Eramosa;

– Ava Fleming, Township of Guelph/Eramosa;

– Zachary Schmelter, Town of Erin;

– Alex Kirkpatrick, Town of Erin,

– Rebekah McDougall, Township of Wellington North;

– Kaylee Chapman,  Puslinch Township;

– Rebecca Driedger, Mapleton Township; and

– Emma Westendorp, Town of Minto.
