Council gets News of grant
Centre Wellington Mayor Joanne Ross-Zuj delivered some good and bad News to council here on Jan. 23.
She opened a brief council meeting with a notice that the township had earlier that day received notice from the province that it was going to receive a grant from the Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund.
The township received $999,000, she said.
That was the good News.
The bad News is that the grant was $111,000 lower than the one received the previous year.
Council and taxpayers will have to make up that difference somehow during the coming budget deliberations.
