Council backs call for hydro rate reduction
On June 23 council here endorsed a resolution calling on the province to cancelled planned increases in hydro rates and take action to “bring rates down to a reasonable level as quickly as possible.”
The resolution from Greater Madawaska Township notes the province’s long-term energy plan anticipates hydro rates will rise by 42 per cent over the next five years.
