It’s finally a go.

On Oct. 4, councillors here finally passed the bylaw adopting Norm Gamble as its closed meeting investigator effective Jan. 1, 2012.

Clerk Kathryn Ironmonger explained council had the option of considering a two or four year term.

She believes that Gamble prefers a four year option.

Council Barb Tocher was agreeable to a four year term.

The remainder of council agreed.

Mayor Lou Maieron said the move would mean that the next incoming council would not need to deal with the matter during its first year in office.

Council later passed the bylaw.
