Cork Street sewage pumping station update
Manager of Public Works Gary Williamson recently reported to the water and sewer committee that a pre-construction meeting was held and contractor, Baseline Constructors Inc. planned to start work on the Cork Street sewage pumping station in February.
It expects to complete the work by early October.
That, Williamson said, will allow sufficient time to co-ordinate the associated road construction.
The new station needs to be fully operational before the old sewage pumping station is abandoned. The road portion of the contract will be out to tender by the end of February.
He said a contractor is drilling test holes to identify any soil issues prior to the tender being awarded.
