Community-built public art installation to be unveiled at Arts By The Pond
HILLSBURGH – Over Here Community Arts Adventure (OHCAA) will unveil the Station Stop Caboose Hop, a permanent public art installation, at the third Annual Arts By The Pond on Sept. 19 from noon to 5pm at the Hillsburgh library (9 Station St.).
Designed by local artist Jefferson Campbell-Cooper, the Caboose Hop will sit at the Elora-Cataract Trailhead – the historic site of the Hillsburgh train station. Accessible to visitors of all ages and abilities, it honours the railway that once connected Hillsburgh to neighbouring towns.
The official reveal begins at 2pm with a community procession from the library grounds to the trailhead.
The third annual Arts By The Pond this year is co-hosted by OHCAA and Erin Tree Trust, whose shared commitment to creativity, collaboration and the natural environment reflects the spirit of the Town of Erin, officials state in a press release.
This year, the event also celebrates Henry, the Town of Erin’s 2026 Tree of the Year, with art and inspired by the beloved American Elm.
The afternoon includes a Plein Air Paint Out, a pop-up gallery, live music, dance, an artisan market and community art activities. Food and a licensed café are also on site.
The event runs rain or shine. Admission is free and open to all, with donations appreciated.
