Community agencies come together for Haunted Hub benefit event

FERGUS – The family-friendly Haunted Hub Halloween-themed event takes place Oct. 25 in Fergus to raise money to support youth mentorship, family services and community programming for the county.

Hosted by Community Resource Centre of North and Centre Wellington and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Centre Wellington, the event will have a haunted walk, trick-or-treating, pumpkin voting and decorating, Halloween games and crafts, snacks and more.

“We used to hold an event for the last few years called Spooky Stables, hosted at the GrandWay (Events Centre in Elora) and unfortunately we weren’t able to utilize that space this year,” local Big Brothers Big Sisters programming director Ashley Winterburn told the Advertiser.

Winterburn decided to pivot the idea and continue to offer a low-cost, accessible Halloween event for families.

The event will now be hosted at the Skyline Community Hub (900 Tower Street South) running from 2 to 6pm with tickets for $5 per person.

“We’re encouraging people to dress up. We would love to do a costume contest,” Winterburn said.

Tickets are currently available for pre-sale.
