Close shave for two J.D. Hogarth teachers; new record for students
FERGUS – J.D. Hogarth Public School held its annual food drive over three weeks this month, collecting 3,200 food items – more than the goal of 3,000 – for the local food bank.
As an incentive to donate items, Grade 8 teachers James Fielding and Jim Newton volunteered to have their heads shaved at the holiday assembly on Dec. 21.
“Students at J.D. Hogarth demonstrated a great deal of holiday spirit, contributing over 3,200 items,” officials stated.
“This is a new record donation for J.D. Hogarth.”
School officials expressed thanks to local hair dresser Nicole Robotham, who donated her time and expertise for the momentous event.
“Thanks to everyone for their support. We hope that our donations help to make this holiday season a positive one for everyone in the Centre Wellington area,” they stated.
