Clifford Carnival Celebration returns downtown July 11
CLIFFORD – Celebrate summer in downtown Clifford on July 11 with extended hours, from 10am-3pm, for this year’s Clifford Carnival Celebration.
Elora Street in Clifford will be closed to traffic to bring back the event’s main attraction, the Demerling’s Garage Auto Show. Guests of all ages can see a variety of vehicles downtown, including antique cars, as well as a “touch-a-truck” area.
To compliment the event, the Neustadt Brewery Beer Garden will return starting at 11am.
New this year, there will be a RC model car showcase or viewing in the Celebration Square parking lot.
The event will also feature a community dog show and professional dog shows. At 11am, Kim’s Grooming Salon Community Dog Show will showcase local pups doing small tricks at the Celebration Square gazebo.
Those with a dog wanting to participate can register at cliffordconnects.ca.
There will be prizes for each dog participating. Following the show, at 12pm and 2pm, all can visit Cenotaph Park to see the R&R Pet Paradise POWER PAWS Dog Show, sponsored by Blessings to You Centre.
Visitors can also enjoy the local Minto Makers’ Market, a community fun run/walk, participate in various activities (such as face-painting, balloons, and a caricature artist) and at 1pm is the Great Steverino Magic Show. Organizers say there will be costumed characters roaming the downtown, live music, a DJ, lawn games, and more.
Various community organizations, like the Knox United Church will be hosting activities as well. The Church will also open their doors for public washrooms and to act as a water refill and cool-down station.
Businesses will be open with special deals and sidewalk sales.
