CLAYFIELD, James Raymond

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James Raymond Clayfield, of Mount Forest, Ontario, at the age of 81. Born in Kitchener, Ontario, James and his wife, Gloria, raised their family on a farm in Breslau, where they lived for more than 40 years. In 2008, they moved to Thornbury, where they operated an orchard and market until retiring in 2013. They later moved to Mount Forest in 2023. James will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Amy (Ian) Strachan of Elora and Rebecca (Bryan) MacLeod of Ottawa, and his grandson, Andrew Strachan. He was predeceased by his grandson, Matthew Strachan, his parents, Raymond and Elaine Clayfield, and his siblings, Susan Hawley, Ronald Clayfield, and Brian Clayfield. James and Gloria recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Gloria sadly passed away on July 7, 2026, just two months before James. The family will share details of any memorial arrangements at a later date. In memory of James, donations may be made to Louise Marshall Hospital in Mount Forest or Royal Canadian Legion Branch 530, Waterloo. Arrangements have been entrusted to Graham A.
