Children’s Foundation launches new event in support of local children

GUELPH – The Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington’s fall Gala is evolving to a summer celebration – Patio for a Purpose.

This fresh and new event will be hosted at Spring Mill Distillery where guests will be treated to a special evening, relaxing on the patio with signature drink tastings.

This event, in lieu of the annual Gala, will celebrate the strength and resiliency of the community, highlighting local downtown businesses in Guelph, all while supporting kids. It will take place over two evenings, Aug. 18 and Aug. 19, from 5:30pm to 7pm.

“This is a great moment for us to show the community the spirit of Children’s Foundation; we are adapting, evolving and supporting our community in new ways,” said Emma Rogers, CEO of the foundation.

“It was crucial that this event not only support the community that has supported us but also fuel the local economy.

“We have integrated various elements of local, working with local downtown restaurants to encourage attendees to dine afterwards, as well as provide swag bags filled with items from right here in our backyard.

“We are very much dedicated to moving forward as a community that is stronger as well as more united and we wanted this event to truly embrace this mission.”

While the event is evolving to a new time and place, the purpose remains the same – to be together, to have fun and to help kids.

The Spring Mill Distillery is in the heart of Guelph.

“The event feels like the perfect fit for us as we reopen, supporting the children in our community while bringing everyone back together in a safe way, we are very excited,” said Cooper Sleeman of Spring Mill Distillery.

Tickets for the event are on sale and can be purchased in tables of two, up to tables of 10. Due to social distancing requirements, tables are limited.
