CHANDLER, Roger Bryant

Passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on Saturday, March 14, 2026, in Guelph, Ontario, with family at his side. Roger is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Linda, his daughters Jennifer and Melanie, son-in-law Adam Veige, grandchildren Fletcher and Dexter, and sister, Jo-Anne (Garry). He will be missed by his niece and nephews and by lifelong friends. Roger was predeceased by his sister Brenda (Norman) and his parents Stanley and Joyce. Roger was a beloved teacher in Sault Ste Marie, Echo Bay, and at St. Joseph Island Central Public School. He spent his life learning, taking up stained glass work, fishing rod building, fly tying, and model building later in life. He enjoyed encounters with his former students in all manner of ways, from them being his nurse, OT or PT. He was an avid fisherman and would spend many happy hours on the lake or shore. Thank you to the compassionate staff at Guelph General Hospital ICU, Groves Hospital (Fergus) and to his home health care team for the excellent care and kind support they provided. Memorial donations can be made to the Foundation of Guelph General Hospital (https://gghfoundation.ca/ways-to-give/).
