Centre Wellington Black Committee presents: Awakened Voices 3

WELLINGTON COUNTY – History of the Black community in Wellington County was featured Sept. 22 when the Centre Wellington Black Committee presented Awakened Voices 3, a historical story about a Black community’s arrival to Canada. Among the settlers was Richard Pierpoint, who assisted the British in the War of 1812 and earned his freedom and obtained a land grant in the area to settle here.
