Candidate information workshop set for March 25
ABOYNE – A 2026 municipal election candidate information workshop will be held March 25 at the Wellington County Museum and Archives.
The event will begin at 7pm and is open to potential candidates, spouses or partners of potential candidates, as well as anyone interested in learning more about the election process and local government.
The event will feature guest speakers John Mascarin and Kelly Linton.
Mascarin is a partner at Aid and Berils LLP and a specialist in municipal law and land use planning.
Linton is a “municipal change specialist” with over 25 years of experience, officials say. He is a past mayor of Centre Wellington and county warden.
Event topics will include:
– municipal powers;
– roles and responsibilities;
– the public’s role in municipal governance and administration;
– municipal conflict of interest and other personal responsibilities; and
– impact on family life.
