Calls for ambulance assistance rising

It seems the number of ambulance assist calls are going up.
In reports to council from the Mount Forest Fire Department, ten ambulance assists were reported for November and another five in December.
Councillor Ross Chaulk said now that the department has switched its dispatch centre to Guelph, more of those types of calls are coming in.
The change was not only noticed by him, but members of the department as well.
Mayor Mike Broomhead suggested to keep an eye on the issue – especially since Wellington County is in the midst of negotiating its ambulance service contract.
