BROWN, William “Bill” Arthur
Formerly of Drayton passed away peacefully at the Palmerston and District Hospital on Friday, September 18, 2026 at the age of 100. Cherished husband of the late Lois (Rogers) Brown (2015). Dear father of Mark (Sherry) Brown of Belleville, Karen (Ted) Riehl of Beamsville, Gordon (Lois) Brown Palmerston and Joanne (Brian) Eng of Mississauga. Dear grandfather of Steven (Heather) Brown, Darryl (Myla) Brown; Jacob Riehl, the late Isaac Riehl (2012); Michelle Brown-McCormick and Alexander Brown; Daniel Eng and Jordan Eng. Great grandfather of Landon, Ethan, Ariana, Tyson, Charlotte, Francesca, Lily and Olivia. Brother of Betty Lyons, Katherine Nieman and Gladys Price. Brother-in-law of Grace Saul, David and Nancy Rogers, and Donna LaPeare. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents T. Allan and Katie (O’Brien) Brown, siblings George Brown, Morris Brown, Alleda Fischer and Marion Howie. Bill was born on a farm near Westmeath, ON in the Ottawa Valley. He was the oldest son of T.Allan Brown and Katie O’Brien. In his teen years, he worked in a logging camp. At the end of the war, he travelled to Alberta to help with the harvest. On his return to Ontario, he studied at Eastern Pentecostal Bible College in preparation for ministry. There he met the love of his life, Lois Rogers. They married after graduation and began pastoring a church in Mac Tier, ON. After a few years, Bill and Lois took a Pastorate at the Drayton Pentecostal Tabernacle. He later took a position at Robert McEachern Fuels where he worked till his retirement. During his retirement, he volunteered for many years with ERDO as well as Habitat for Humanity and Meals on Wheels. In his leisure time he enjoyed camping with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren even in his 99th year. He was fortunate to live in the family home until his 95th year and then moved to the Royal Terrace in Palmerston, where he thrived and made many friends with both the staff and other residents. Most recently, he took great pleasure in celebrating his 100th birthday with many friends and family. He leaves a legacy of faith, hope and love with the lives he touched. The Funeral Service of Remembrance was held in the Whites Road Pentecostal Church, Harriston on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at 11:00am followed by interment in Drayton Cemetery.
