BROWN, Vera Janet Mary (née Acton)
Of Elora and formerly of Belwood. Passed away peacefully, early on September 26, 2023 at Caressant Care, Arthur, just 3 months shy of her 102nd birthday. Wife of the late Lorne Thomas Brown (2019). Loving mother of Dennis (Linda) of London, Bob (Shirley) of Fergus and Wayne (Sylvia) of Whitecourt, Alberta. Grandmother of 10, great grandmother of 31 and great, great grandmother of 13. Dear sister of Audrey Lyke of Indian Head, Saskatchewan and Stan Acton (Marj) of Lemberg, Saskatchewan. Predeceased by sisters; Shirley (2020) and Lillian (1930), and brothers and sisters-in-law; Carmen and Marion Brown, Walter and Bernice Rogers, Lloyd and Mary Brown, and Elmer Lyke. Visitation took place on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 from 10am until 12pm at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home in Fergus, with a funeral service beginning at 12pm in the chapel. Following the funeral service, guests are invited upstairs to the Wellington Room for a time of fellowship and refreshments. Elevator access is available. In lieu of flowers, donations in Vera’s memory may be made to Belwood United Church, or to a charity that is meaningful to you, and are greatly appreciated by her family.
