BROWN, Laura Christine
Laura Brown, resident of Goodfare, AB, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at the Beaverlodge Hospital (Beaverlodge, AB) with her family by her side, at the age of 49 years. Laura was born February 14, 1974, to parents Robert and Shirley P. Brown in Fergus, ON. Laura studied translation and technical writing at Glendon College. Laura had a deep appreciation for gardening and outdoor recreation, which she passed on to her children. She planted trees, lived off-grid, raised five children and made many friends and acquaintances in the wonderful community of Goodfare. She is survived and will be dearly missed by her spouse Lee Cowtan; children: Adam Cowtan (Jade Tolway), Grace Cowtan, Lily Cowtan, Maya Cowtan, and Liam Cowtan; her grandchildren: Jacob Cowtan, Steven Cowtan, and Everlynn Cowtan; her father Robert (Shirley A.L) Brown; her mother Shirley P. Brown; brothers: Rob Brown (Nancy Kha), and Jesse Brown (Tania Benoit-Brown); sister Erin Brown; and grandmother Violet Hughes; as well as nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. Laura was predeceased by her grandparents, Lorne and Vera Brown, and her grandfather Roland Hughes. Laura always had a smile and time for anyone. She was a humble soul, but a pillar of strength for her five children. We love you, Mom. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024, at 2:00pm at the Goodfare Community Hall (725008 Range Rd. 121).
