Hap passed away peacefully at his home in Erin surrounded by family on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at the age of 84. Born on April 27, 1942 at Dufferin Area Hospital in Orangeville to parents Malcolm & Lorraine Brown (Malcolm passed in Oct. 1993 and Lorraine in Sept. 2016). Hap leaves behind his loving wife, Wilma (nee Hamilton) of 62 years, and his favourite, one and only son Barry. He was the proud grandpa of Taylor (Brice) and Janelle (Tony). He was then blessed with four great grandchildren Quinn, Dawson, Kaycen & Noah Rayne. Survived by brothers & sisters Doug (Nancy), Marlene (Earl), Nancy (Glen). Rosemary (Reg) and by sister in law Marian Armstrong. Hap was predeceased by brothers Jim (1985),  Allan (2014), sister-in-law Betty Delaney (2017), Brothers-in-law Doug Delaney (2023) and Duncan Armstrong (2023). Hap will be fondly missed by several nieces and nephews. Hap was a kind & loving person who loved the land. He had a wonderful sense of humor and he faced his health challenges with resilience & determination. Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown 1-905-877-3631 on Tuesday, October 13th, 2026 from 2:00 - 4:00pm and 6:00 - 8:00pm. A Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, October 14th at 11:00am, with visitation 1 hour prior to service. Interment at Huxley Cemetery in Hillsburgh following the service. Light refreshments will follow at Erin Legion on Dundas St. in Erin. If you desire, memorial contributions can be made to Erin Agricultural Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the charity of your choice.
