PALMERSTON – Bright Minds Education Inc. celebrated its grand opening with an official ribbon cutting ceremony on May 1.

The event, hosted by the Minto Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Minto, marked the formal arrival of this new educational resource in the heart of Palmerston.

Local officials, business neighbours and community members gathered to witness the milestone.

Representing the Town of Minto and the Minto Chamber of Commerce respectively, Mayor David Turton and past chair Dr. Shawn McDonald welcomed the new venture, noting the importance of diverse professional services in fostering a vibrant local economy.

The spotlight of the afternoon was on the centre’s founder Allanah Walsh (known fondly to many in the community as Miss Bondi).

After years of dedication to education, Walsh has officially transitioned into the role of business owner.

The ceremony served as a double celebration: marking the launch of the facility and honoring Walsh’s entrepreneurial journey.

“We are thrilled to officially welcome Bright Minds Education Inc. to Palmerston,” said Minto Chamber of Commerce business development coordinator Raisa Abrahim.

“It is always a proud moment to see an educator turn their skills and passion into a service that our community can benefit from.

“We congratulate Mrs. Walsh on this incredible achievement and is excited to see the impact her business will have on our local students and families.”

Bright Minds Education Inc. aims to provide tailored educational support, fostering a love for learning in a focused, encouraging environment, officials stated in a press release.

“The new space is designed to meet the growing needs of families in Minto and the surrounding areas.

“The Minto Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Minto extends a warm welcome to Walsh and her team. We encourage the community to stop by, say hello to ‘Miss Bondi’ and discover the services offered by the newest Minto small business.”
