BOYS, Sharon Joan (née Noble)

Our beloved wife, mother, and grandma, Sharon Boys (née Noble), passed away peacefully on October 14, 2026, at the age of 69 at Groves Memorial Hospital. Born on December 16, 1956, in Fergus to Don and Joan Noble, Sharon lived a life marked by deep devotion to her family and community. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Ken Boys; her children Steve (Elizabeth) Boys and Sara (Jarret) McDougall; her cherished grandchildren Nolan and Evelie Boys, and Jordan and Alison McDougall; and her siblings Nancy (Jim) Speers, Murray (Lisa) Noble, the late Paul (Lori) Noble, and Jamie (Vickie) Noble. She was a special sister-in-law to Bob, Diane, and Alison, as well as a proud aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Don and Joan Noble; her brother, Paul Noble; and her father- and mother-in-law, James and Florence Boys. Sharon was a steady and dependable pillar of her community, working for the Township of Centre Wellington for 30 years. Her role began with administrative work for the Village of Elora, where she organized and scheduled community and sports events and mentored many youth in the community at the good old Elora Arena Booth. She stood proudly beside her volunteer firefighter husband from the early days when emergency calls came through a fire phone in their family home, at the Canada Day pancake breakfasts, and during the countless times she held down the fort when Ken rushed out the door to help others in need. Through every stage, Sharon was there, supporting her family and her community with the same quiet dedication and dependability that defined her. Above all, Sharon was a devoted mother and grandmother who treasured the simple joys of family life. She found happiness in a good novel, family camping trips, and memorable gatherings with her family. She was, without question, the number one hockey fan for all her grandchildren, cheering them on with pride and enthusiasm. She cherished visits with family out West, trips to Arizona, and time spent with her friends. Whether gathered around a kitchen table, travelling down a familiar highway, watching a hockey game, or simply catching up with the people she loved, Sharon understood that these were the moments that mattered. It was never about how grand the occasion was, but about the people beside her and the memories they made along the way. Perhaps the greatest lesson we can take from Sharon’s life is that a rich life isn’t made up of big, extraordinary moments. Rather, it is built in the little things: the laughter shared around a kitchen table, the phone calls, the family stories, the celebrations, the helping hands, the inside jokes, and the time spent together. Those are the moments that become our memories. Those are the moments that become our lives. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home in Fergus. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Aboyne Rural Hospice or the Grand River Breast Cancer Program.
