BOOTSMAN, Martin

92, of Fergus, Ontario, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on November 25, 2025. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, companion and best friend of over 67 years, Catherine (McKeown).Loved by his three children, Carol, Marty, and Stephen, and his cherished grandchildren Jaclyn (Ryan) Jordan (Diana) and Justin (Amanda). G-Pa to six great-grandchildren. Martin is also survived by his brother Eric. Predeceased by two sisters, Aaffeen and Helma and an infant great granddaughter Emmie Pearl. A devoted Christian, Martin’s faith guided him throughout his life. Born to Dutch immigrants, Peter and Beatrice Bootsman, on March 20, 1933 in King Township, York County, Ontario. Martin was a proud family man who cherished his relationships with his loved ones. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends, but we take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, at home with the Lord. A private family memorial has been held to honour Martin’s life, and the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Aboyne Hospice Fund in appreciation of the compassionate care provided to Martin in his final days. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the caregivers who cared for Martin, and to everyone who has expressed their condolences. We are at peace, knowing that he is at peace, and we will cherish the memories of his life and legacy. Arrangements are entrusted to Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home.
