Blue Bonnet Lassies fare well at Scottish Festival
FERGUS – Blue Bonnet Lassies had a busy and exciting week leading up to the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games, Aug. 7, 8 and 9, participating in the Pipes, Plaid and Pageantry parade on Aug. 6, and the Aug. 7 evening Tattoo before competing in a successful two-day competition.
The results from Aug. 8 are as follows:
In the primary six years category, Finleigh MacLeod won second in Fling and third in Sword. In the beginner nine years category, Pearl Dodds won third in Sword and fourth in Seann Truibhas and Kailey Eisen won sixth in Fling.
In the novice 11 and under 13 years category, Harlyn Heathers won fifth in Fling, fourth in Sword, and sixth in Seann Thruibas, and Ziva Sobol won sixth in Sword.
In the intermediate 12 and under 15 years category, Scarlett Jackson won fifth in Seann Thruibas and Cayley Simpson won sixth in Sword, fourth in Seann Thruibas and fifth in Reel.
In intermediate 15 years and over category, Gabby Jackson won fourth in Fling, sixth in Sword and sixth in Seann Thruibas and Brooke Bailey won fifth in Sword, fifth in Seann Thruibas and sixth in Reel.
The results from Sunday are as follows:
In the beginners eight and under 10 years category, Pearl Dodds won fifth in Scottish Lilt and first in Strathspey and Highland Reel.
In the novice nine and under 12 years category, Harlyn Heathers won fifth in Strathspey and Highland Reel.
In the intermediate 12 and under 14 years category, Cayley Simpson won first in Barracks, third in Lilt, fourth in Flora and the Group Overall Runner-Up Trophy; Scarlett Jackson won third in Barracks, sixth in Lilt, and second in Flora; and Maribelle McBroom won fifth in Lilt and sixth in Flora.
In the intermediate 14 years and over category, Brooke Bailey won sixth in Barracks and Gabby Jackson won fifth in Lilt and sixth in Flora.
In premier 17, Eila Gillies won fourth in Fling, fifth in Sword, fifth in Seann Truibhas and sixth in Strathspey and Reel of Tulloch.
