Passed away peacefully on January 31, 2019 at the Wellington Terrace in her 95th year. Marj is predeceased by her beloved husband, Cune, and brother Jim Rayburn. She is survived by her children, of whom, she was very proud. Her son Lynn (Coon) Black (Betty) of Fergus, her daughter Cheryl Black (Shelagh MacKinnon) of Victoria, BC and her daughter Beth Williams (Dave Marshall) of Katepwa Lake, Sk, her five grandchildren, Gwen Paluch (Christopher) of Elora, Kevin Black of Oshawa, Kurtis Williams (Lynn) of Gunton, MB, Kristopher Williams (Dani) of Lacombe, AB and Heather Dowling (Zack) of Elora and 10 great grandchildren, Abby, Ty, Maisey, Isabelle, Kieffer, Mason, Abel, Aiden, Caleb, and Ollie. She is also survived by her sister Jackie Woolcott of Etobicoke and many nieces and nephews and friends. Family was the centre of Marj’s life and yet she always found time and energy to support community groups to which she belonged: Ladies Auxiliary of Legion Branch #229 Elora, the Canadian Foresters Association, Melville United Church and Melville U.C.W. Marj will be missed but her influence will continue to be felt in the hearts and in the actions of those who loved her. Family and friends visited on Monday, February 4, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00pm & 7:00 to 9:00pm and Tuesday, February 5, 2019 from 12:00 to 1:00pm at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. South, Fergus. A Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 1:00pm at the funeral home. Interment in McKee Cemetery at a later date. The family wishes to thank the staff of The Wellington Terrace and Dr. Stickney for the excellent care that was provided to Marj. The family requests in lieu of flowers, that donations be made towards The Wellington Terrace or Melville United Church would be appreciated.
