John Richard ‘Rick’ Bender of Harriston passed away at Palmerston Hospital on Saturday, April 25, 2026, in his 84th year. Husband of Jackie (Plant) Bender. Father of John Bender & Scott of Kitchener, Robert & Lisa Bender of Port Elgin, and Jennifer & David Mogk of Kitchener. Grandfather of Jacob Mogk, Ryan Mogk, Danica Bender, Curtis Bender, and Keenan Bender, and great-grandfather of Wesley Robert. Lovingly remembered by Jackie’s family, and cherished also by his sisters Rosanna Olsen of Kitchener, and Mary Ellen Tompkins and husband Richard of Lakefield, as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Raymond Bender & wife Elizabeth, and by brother-in-law Allan Olsen. A graveside funeral service will be held in Harriston Cemetery on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 1:30pm.
